I like to think that science lives in our shared physical universe, art lives in our individual perceived universes, and joy lives in our relationships, the universes created in the spaces between people.
What’s the meaning of life? To answer, as a computer scientist, I use code and algorithms. As an artist, I may use paint, words, or music. The mediums of Joy are the most simple and the most fulfilling to me: meaningful conversations, letters to my parents, gifts, and inside jokes. I try to have my work alternate between and combine these three worlds in interesting ways.
“Joy” is shorthand for the phrase “You are my joy”. Here is some work I have done under the category of “joy”.
